Clare Asks:
I'm trying to raise extra income - due to ex leaving me in debt and not paying me. I am a qualified typist, but I would like to earn extra by doing the job I know at home in the evenings. Where can I go?
Hi Clare and thanks for contacting TypingJobsFromHome.co.uk and I hope I can answer your question. So you are a qualified typist and you want to use your typing skills to do some extra work in the evening from home.
You could start your search off locally but you may find that not many local job agencies have cottoned onto home working so I am going to suggest you start your search online.
As a qualified typist and if you have the work experience and qualifications to go with it puts you in a stronger position than many when going after this type of employment. First off you are going to have to put your C.V. in order and make sure it is up to date. Although you are applying online for a job the employer is still a real person who wants to know that their potential employee is capable and just as important honest.
Many of the online recruitment and job agency sites list few if any home based jobs but there are a few smaller sites that do list job vacancies for home working positions. You can find relevant jobs at places such as WorkingMums.co.uk, theHomeWorkerJob.com and RemoteEmployment.com, all of which list jobs that can be done from home. Out of the 3 sites I think Working Mums probably has the best selection of jobs.
When searching through the listings make sure that you fully understand the requirements. There is no point in applying for roles that you are not qualified to do. Don't worry if you do not get a reply back from an application as even though email has made communication easier and cheaper many employers have hundreds of applications to sift through.
Unfortunately some of the job listings are bogus so be wary of any jobs that require a registration fee, training fee, application fee or any other sort of cost to you. No real job will ask you for money up front.
Good luck with your search Clare and I hope you find a suitable job that you can do from home in the evenings. I would be interested to hear your feedback on your job search. Anyone wishing to ask a question can do so by filling out the form below.
