As long as you keep a good record of what you have earned and what your allowable expenses are you should be fine. You can always hire an accountant to do your taxes for you.

There are many freelance project available on many of the freelance sites such as oDesk, Freelancer, GetAFreelancer and many others. You can use these sites to bid on projects, the employer will choose you based on the price you are willing to job for, your experience and your previous history. The more projects that you have under your belt the more likely you are to be chosen for other jobs as you will have a proven track record.
